A detailed description of the event follows:

Startup Challenge at ICT Spring, Luxemburg

Greek startups need to mature.

One way to achieve this is by exposure to international competition. Not necessarily business competition but plotting their way to international audiences and markets.

Not many greek startups have participated in international competitions so far. SocialWhale comes in mind as one.

Considering this international exposure an important learning process, we will start updating you about events in Europe and Middle East that might be interesting for participating.

3rd Athens Startup Weekend

Wanted: tweepML list for Greekstartups (updated)

Ever heard of TweepML? It is self described as:

... an extensible, open standard format that allows you to manage and share groups of Twitter users.

This can be really convenient and useful, as TweepML allows one-click mass following of all the tweeps (=twitter users) mentioned in a TweepML list.

Got the idea? If we create a TweepML for Greekstartups, people will be able to mass follow them. To follow YOU!

Techstars could be a good model for Openfund

Andrew Hyde (yes, the startup weekend guy), one of the advisors of Openfund is related with Techstars. This might be important because Techstars does something similar to Openfund. Only it does it longer. So there are lessons to be learned here.

What is Techstars? David Cohen explains in this short video from ReadWriteWeb.

OpenFund: seedfunding for the Greek startups

Yesterday's Opencoffee meeting [1] was kinda historical: a new fund was announced that will focus on seed investing much like YCombinator [2] or SeedCamp [3]: *OpenFund*. The new fund will focus on very early stage start-ups that are oriented towards the global market, and seem to have a high returns perspective. Funding will be up to 30K Euros in exchange of a stake up to 20%. [1] http://opencoffee.gr/2009/05/28/oc-ath-xxiii-call/ [2] http://ycombinator.com/ [3] http://seedcamp.com/%22
